Fire Prevention and Protection

The Indian Valley Fire Department provides fire protection and rescue services to the residents of Indian Valley. The Fire Department consists of volunteers overseen by a paid Chief. There are 4 fire stations located strategically throughout the valley. The Fire Department is supported solely through property taxes and private donations.

Chief Balbiani is the paid fire chief for the Indian Valley Community Services District. He oversees the fire stations in Greenville, California, Taylorsville, California, North Arm station, and Genesee, California.
​There are 4 trucks in Greenville, 4 trucks in Taylorsville, 2 trucks in North Arm, and 1 truck in Genesee. There's a 1937 parade truck stored in Greenville and 1 truck used by the chief on a daily basis.
​There are volunteers in many places around Indian Valley and an agreement with Crescent Mills Fire to respond to each others calls for service.
